Terms of Use
Effective 2026-10-31
These terms are between you and Spectrum Zero LLC (“we”), which makes SuperEditr. They cover the SuperEditr app we distribute and this website.
1. Two ways to get SuperEditr
- Source code. SuperEditr’s source code is published under the Apache License, version 2.0. Your rights to the code come from that licence, and nothing here limits them.
- Our builds. The signed, notarized app we distribute (the “App”) is free to download and use during early access.
2. Trademark
“SuperEditr” and its pen-nib logo are our trademarks. The Apache License lets you modify and share the code, but it grants no rights to the name or logo (section 6). If you distribute your own build, give it a different name and icon, and don’t suggest it is official or endorsed by us. See TRADEMARKS.md in the source repository.
3. AI services you connect
If you connect Claude, OpenAI, Gemini or another service, you’re using that service under your own agreement with it, and you’re responsible for its fees and terms. We don’t control those services or their output.
4. Your text
Your text is yours. We claim no rights to it, and we never receive it (see the Privacy Policy). Suggestions may contain mistakes; review them before you send anything important.
5. Acceptable use
Don’t use the App or this website to break the law.
6. No warranty
The App is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don’t promise it will be error-free or always available.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it and US$50. Some places don’t allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as allowed.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. If we do, we’ll update this page and its date.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, except where your local consumer law gives you rights that can’t be waived.
